My Problem With Valencia

It is about time that I talked about Test Realm. I don't have access to Test Realm though, so I am purely going off of what people have conversed with me, what I have seen in streams and what I have read on Twitter, forums, and in the update notes. There are a ton more things I want to cover, but these are my main concerns, and yes, this is more of a rant post than something that I usually do.

In preparation for Valencia Part 2 and future updates to come (or me just being lazy and forgetting about everything besides what happened at the end of Aquila), I decided it would be a good idea to go through the game again on a new pirate. So after approximately 2 whole hours I had made a new pirate: Wolf Underwood. A privateer who lost his parents from the Armada and was then raised by bears in Grizzleheim. Not wolves sadly because apparently Grizzleheim is all about bears.

Valencia Part 2 Thoughts (Part 2)

I am pretty late on this topic (and back to blogging on here altogether) as I wanted to see what other members on Twitter, Pirate101 Central, and the official Pirate101 forums had to say about the announcement from the most recent KI Live of Valencia Part 2 or VL2. Anyways, the main point of this is to talk about is:

1. Part 1 will be about how I think we will get into this new skyway and what will happen in it/who we meet
2. Part 2 will be my ideas about what will happen after this skyway

Please also note that this is what I personally want to happen and you don't have to agree on it, and in fact, you can comment below with how you think Pirate101 will play out after Valencia Part 2.

Bugfixes

We have gotten rid of the gift box feature

Companions now go on bed rest when they take aren't at full health. Ex: 1995/1996 is a 1 hour bed rest

All mounts are now at normal speed due to complaints

We saw how some companions are no longer getting used as feel neglected, so we gave them buffs that are => popular companions

Resetting companions now costs 10k gold with or without membership

All content from Pirate101 will be moving over to Wizard101 as we merge the games to become Spiral101.

I am only looking to have these as rare once a year things on both blogs and the 2 times a year (once around start of Spring and one at the start of Fall), 1 for each game on the new blog. Behind The Coding takes us into the concept art, what inspired it, and more; this time we are taking a look into the storm skies of Valencia and seeing who the maker of the map is and a real life armada from history so snuggle up in a blanket, get some coffee (or your favorite drink) and start reading Behind The Coding - Valencia.

A Short Story - Late Night Nightmare

I sat up, the cold wind blowing from under the doors and from the top windows that I could never close. It had been only a day sense I had returned from Cool Ranch and it seems the trail of ghostly cold winds of the Haunted Skyway followed me then it appeared, a green fox that seemed to be disfigured smiling and then it stopped. It was all just a dream, there was no green fox, it was just the book I was making, getting into my mind and scaring me ever so much making me think it was real.

Kane,

I saw the pirate in the Tomb of Marco Pollo while looking around for any clues to El Dorado and called the troops with me to attack and kill the pirate for you, hopefully he is gone now and out of the way. Also I went to the Sivella and found out that the pirate was there also, after I found this out I pranced in the meadows and checked both the stronghold and the fortress on both sides of the skyway and found out that the pirate was at the fortress and nearly destroyed our forces there.

Pirate101 Test Realm Online!

You will love this as much as me as this update covers a lot of things I think we all have been waiting (or at least a improvement on) to be fixed.

Bug Fixes of Awesomeness

• Players will less frequently zone into wrong location and be unable to move. (NO MORE FLOATING IN SKYWAYS! :D)
• Players will less frequently experience wandering or floating NPCs outside of their normal locations. (Your now glued to your spot outside the Kraken Skulls Tavern Eloise)
• Powers will more reliably retain their placement order when sorted by players.
• Reduced occurrence where sometimes a player's turn is skipped in both single player and PvP.
• Battle Angels in "Mission Improbable"instance will no longer trigger the flanking epic talents next to caltrop traps.
• traps will no longer activate but be invisible when a player flees the battleboard in Multiplayer combat and PvP.
• Players and Companions can now use their Jump ability to leap over obstacles in PvP combat.

Farming For Bone Stew

Well because I am Pirates Unite staff now I had to go farming for gold so I have housing related stuff to blog about on there. I had two options: ask on Twitter for someone to go to Subata Skyway (I mean the actual skyway) and let me port to them so I can farm Amber Horde ships or go to Avernus Skyway in Dragonspyre and farm for gold from the Bone Drake, the first option failed so I am now farming in Avernus Skyway for gold so I can buy a new house.

This place is starting to seem like home to me, I was here when I was level 50 farming for gold and here I am again, I might as well make a little house on one of these obsidian shards floating around this far outside of Dragonspyre Academy, being this close to Valencia will also help me research into the world, it interests me in the geography, buildings, origins of the Armada, everything.

I Got In + Blog Updates

Your probably thinking something else but who cares, I just got into the Pirates Unite blogger team (PU for short) and I think I have the Friday spot. my blog on PU will be for community mazes and housing in general and I will try to keep this blog and 101 Adventures active as much as possible.

Speaking about the blog I have added Wizards Unite to the blogroll and a visitor globe map which I am testing it out for now and I will have a poll up soon to see if you want it to stay on the blog.

The Third Picture

This one out of the current three pictures seems to my liking to make a blog post about it so why not. If you look own at the dialog in this then you can clearly see that this shark was (or still is if they went into hiding) part of one of the clans that died when Skull Island was discovered and people started makings villages, cities, etc.  Also notice how this shark seems to be carrying scrolls in his right hand, this could mean that he maybe is a witchdoctor or something else. So far this picture and the other two don't fit into place, a shark wanting to our companion + special dock + giant eagle holding up a Colosseum + some old crazy guy talking about the ancient ones.

Ooh, now I see it, this is probably going to be the first side zone (like how Crab Alley is one for Wizard101) for Pirate101 probably, and the Colosseum will be one dungeon or multiple dungeons. Then when you complete everything you will get a standard which will probably not be that good sense it is in Skull Island and that is the starter area so we maybe will see Rouse or Refresh.

New Hobby

Yes, I have a new hobby, may seems uncomfortable but it is keeping me busy until something else happens. The hobby, well... it is fan fiction which is weird because I would give that stage to Emma or DS Deveraux herself but she has influenced me to do some fan fiction, and so I did my swashbuckler.

What needs changing to pirate101.com

I have been looking on the Pirate101 website lately and there are some things that need changing on the website are:

1. A more complex/organized message board - The message board is fine right now but I think it can be even greater if it was catagorized so like this: main page --> Monquista then questing, farming etc. which will house the threads.

Well back to Wizard101 or Pirate101 Again

And why do I have to get it the night before my membership ends -_-. So yes that bug with Medusa got fixed and I may do the final dungeon, if I don't have time I will get another card and get time to complete it again, but this may be one of the last few posts involving my adventures in Aquila in Pirate101.
